EPISODE 2 THE PROPOSAL

SERIES 1  EPISODE 2  :The proposal (Previous episode ,click here)

My mom shook my shoulder with her hands and asked again,

"Have you?"

- "I might have seen her Ma, i’m tired let me go get some rest."

Obviously I wasn't tired , I didn't want my mother to know about my love for Kriti,i had to cover up the whole excitement and blushing in my face. Next day, I was waiting with my heavy school bag and packed lunch in my balcony, peeking every now and then to see if Kriti's ready to leave. I wanted to make sure that we both go together ,but I didn't want it to look like I was desperately waiting for her to come out,i wanted it  to look like one hell of a Coincidence that we both were neighbours.

The time came , She came out of her house to get her cycle, I ran through my house and the stairs and picked up my cycle and walked with it, till outside the gate so that she can see me.

It worked, she was surprised to see me, I was also acting that way, she then asked me to come by her house and introduced me to her parents. I smiled at them, asked them how they were and that regular "New Meet up questions". We said our bye's to them later and started walking with our cycles. We spoke for a little while about what all we did yesterday and after sometime our legs started hurting so we decided to put the wheels to some use and drove our way to School.

Day's passed like this, she found some new friends but it didn't change the way she was with me. However the time we used to spend together in school reduced because our classmates were teasing us together. Can there be a love story without your friends in it, Never. This teasing thing infact brought us closer and closer.

Apart from meeting in school we also hung out together at theaters, Shopping malls and parks. We became closer and Closer , I liked her and I thought she liked me too. I didn't want to waste any more time,so I decided to propose to her. But I was scared, and my past started haunting me again. I started asking myself,

"What if it ends up like before?"

"What if she says No?"

“What if she gets angry and asks me not to come in her life again?"

All these thoughts were haunting me day and night, finally I convinced myself,

"A huge tide has the power to through you, it is up to you stand up and fight or stay down and die". I decided to throw away my fears and propose to her. I immediately called her and said in a briskly voice,

"I have to tell you something Kriti, and it would be better if I said that to you in person. Shall we meet?"

-"Sure, I also have to tell you something" she replied.

I was confused for a minute, it felt like I was hearing an echo of what I just said, I then said,

"OK, let’s meet at the restaurant at 11:30 tomorrow".

I couldn't sleep that night; I was wondering as to how I should propose and what would she say after I propose. The Sun rose and I woke up half confused and half scared. I stood up and got ready for the big day, I crushed my wardrobe with my fierce hands as they were searching for the best pair to wear on a proposal day. I finally ended up wearing a white shirt and black coat and a black pant.

I walked to the Hotel, and started searching for her and when I found her I couldn’t believe my own eye. She was wearing a Black mini skater, it looked so good on her, and I couldn’t take my eyes of her.I went and sat next to her, she gave me a smile, she was already irresistible in that dress now she gives me a smile, and God it was amazing.

The waiter asked for the order, she ordered an Italian pasta and I ordered Hakka noodles.

I then looked at her eye’s and said,

“You look amazing, “

She blushed and said, “I’m glad you said that”

The order came and we started eating, I was waiting for the right moment to propose to her.We both finished eating and in the end we ordered some cold Drinks. I excused myself and went to the waiter
and explained to him that I was going to propose to her and told him that I needed him to do a few things for me .He was Humble and assured me that everything I asked him would be done.

Few minutes later, the big projector screen started playing a video.

 I made a compilation of the memories we made together, the “Let me love you  ...” song was playing behind the video and after a while came my voice, she was surprised to hear my voice and turned immediately to the screen.

“Kriti, the days that I spent with you were the best days of life. I had the best moments of my life when I was with you. You changed my perspective of life; you showed me that part of life that is worth living for. I couldn’t have asked god for a better gift in my life, No matter what, I will always be there for you and I want to be there for you all the time.

 I Love You”

The beat dropped after this and I came out from below the screen with a bouquet in my hand, I walked closer to her. She was in complete shock, I went down on my one knee and stretched the bouquet towards her and said,

“Will you allow me to be there for you for the rest of your life?”

She couldn’t believe what was going on, she was crying with her hands closing up her mouth and everyone around us were Clapping. She then immediately turned back. I was thrown aback with that kind of a reaction.

But she had her own surprises for me. She turned her back so that she could give a cue to the waiter standing behind her. The waiter then raised his hands towards the screen and clicked a button. I was still on my knee waiting,

Then the screen behind me started playing another video, this time it was Kriti talking on the screen, I stood up and turned towards the screen in confusion,

“Kunal, I have had the most amazing memories with you. Whenever I needed support you were always there for me. You made me enjoy my school like never before, now I want you to make me enjoy my life like never before,

I Love You,”

I started Crying. I couldn’t believe what just happened; I couldn’t control the tears flowing from my eyes. I turned towards her and walked straight to her and looked at her face, we had our moment. I was still crying and she was too, we couldn’t bear the distance any longer, we stretched our hands around each other and hugged so tight that we didn’t want to let each other go, FOREVER.

This was the best day of our life's. Who would have thought that if we plan something, God would have something else planned?
